Tony’s raising funds for a defib – can you help?

Tony Norman, manager of our U15s team, has been a youth coach for nearly 6 years now and has enjoyed watching this team grow and develop. This is Tony’s story:

“I have decided to run a half marathon and raise money to buy a defibrillator for our club, for those that know me will know I hate running! In January this year I decided to run to lose weight, since I started I have managed to lose 3 stone and I now manage to run approximately 7 miles every other day. After the horrible scenes we all witnessed at the Euros involving the Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, I knew I needed to do something. The early intervention of a defib meant that Christian survived his ordeal, with this is mind it has made me determined to raise the funds to buy one for the club so that it could assist anyone in a similar unfortunate situation. We have approximately 200/300 visitors over the weekend ranging from children, players, coaches, match officials, parents, grandparents and great grandparents . What a difference this could make to peoples lives if a defibrillator was at hand. So please if I can ask you to spare what you can, and sponsor me to run a half marathon so we at Sandy Tigers and anyone who is involved have access to a defibrillator.”
